The Venue

Roatan is an island just off the Caribbean coast of Honduras. Encrusted amidst the world's second largest barrier reef, Roatan is blessed by miles of white sand beaches, warm waters, friendly faces, and a relaxed island rhythm.

Palmetto Bay Plantation is an eco-friendly resort located on a pristine bay surrounded by verdant hillsides. From our white sand beach you can walk for miles in each direction without encountering modern civilization.

Enjoy the tranquil surroundings or engage in several activities: snorkeling, diving/PADI training with Palmetto's on-site dive shop, kayaking, horseback riding, fishing charters, sea plane adventures, and much more.

Amenities also include a beautiful beachfront restaurant and bar, and a pool looking out onto our private beach.

Reminiscent of traditional Balinese structures, our casas feature wide covered decks and floor to ceiling vistas of tropical gardens and a palm-laden beachfront. With well-equipped kitchens, each casa accommodates from 2 to 5 people, according to villa type.

Come fall in love with Palmetto Bay Plantation.

Your Ceremony

"Cable and I met on the Norwegian Sea cruise ship, and so we decided that we would get married at one of the ports on the same ship several years later. We had our hearts set on Belize and my sister-in-law who was living in Honduras talked us in to having the wedding at Palmetto Bay and told us that we would not be disappointed.... WOW !!!!!!! We had no idea it would be so beautiful. It was honestly like something you see in a movie, maybe better. The staff was so wonderful, and definitely the most accommodating people. We weren't even going to be there that long and they had the cabana set up so beautiful. My bouquet was something you would pay hundreds for. Kudos to Palmetto Bay, we wouldn't have changed a thing."
Love, Cable and Keri Johnson

"The ceremony itself was held on Palmetto Bay's private beach right by the water. The location could not have been more perfect. Cecilia went the extra mile to write all our guest's names on a seashell for their place setting for lunch... Tiny little details like palm frond placemats really added to the paradise-like atmosphere. I had not a clue to how beautiful the setting was or the touches you all do by the pictures on your site, or how much fun was possible. We are planning on coming back next year at the same time."

"My fiance and I had a lovely wedding at Palmetto Bay Plantation. Everything was planned through the internet which could have been very stressful. Luckily Cecilia was very helpful in assisting me with finding a musician, photographer, hair stylist, and of course officiant. Everything worked out better than I could have hoped. My mom still raves over the coconut shrimp we had at the reception. The bungalow we stayed in was very romantic. I have wonderful memories of our wedding and reception, and feel sorry for brides that suffer through all the planning stress. Cecilia and the staff at Palmetto Bay Plantation took care of everything so I could focus on enjoying the wedding. We hope to return there soon."

"From the first contact with Cecilia Chamer, the wedding coordinator, we knew we were in good hands. Cecilia was very responsive, very thorough and took care of all the details. Because of her professionalism all we needed to do was show up and get married. In addition to Cecilia, Palmetto Bay Plantation was a perfect place to get married… it was truly an idyllic location. The staff and the food were also beyond our expectations."
Karri and Alan Perkins - Married March 25th 2009

When my fiancé and I got engaged, we decided to have a destination wedding in Honduras. We did some research on the internet and came across the website for Palmetto Bay Plantation. The pictures featured on the website were stunning, and in reality, this resort exceeded all of our expectations. From our first contact with the wedding planner, Cecilia we knew we were in capable hands. Cecilia was responsive, thorough and professional. She managed to plan and organize an incredible wedding while the bride and groom were thousands of miles away. Not only did she take care of all the details, but she created a beautiful, memorable wedding day for us in a picturesque location- all we had to do was show up, relax and get married. In addition to Cecilia, the staff at Palmetto Bay Plantation was fantastic. Thanks to all of them, our family and friends had a truly memorable experience- we can't wait to return to Palmetto Bay on our first anniversary!
Erin & Jared Ball - Married June 6th 2009
